PACE OF NORTHCOTE

The Pace of Northcote development responds to the local area in both the outward appearance of the building, and with the choices made for its apartment’s interiors. The project is contemporary, urban, sophisticated and timeless.

Pace of Northcote is made up of one, two and three-bedroom apartments and retail spaces on the corner of High Street and Beavers Road. The building’s façade has an industrial aesthetic achieved by using exposed structural grid elements and metal cladding. Incorporated into the façade, descending plants and greenery provide the perfect balance to the metal exterior, bringing the building to life and creating a unique lush outlook for the apartments. In addition to providing an eye-catching natural touch to the building, the climbing wall of plants and greenery provides additional shade / insulation to apartments, making residences more energy efficient by reducing the need for excessive heating and cooling and thereby improves the buildings green footprint.

As the development continues down Beavers Road the height of the building reduces to allow a more seamless integration with the neighbouring residential precinct.

The majority of the High Street frontage is to be clad in a operable perforated metallic shutter system that can either be closed and appear solid or open showing the balconies and glazing beyond - depending on the inhabitants appetite for exposure. When these panels are open, the building reveals its playfulness with colourful internal cladding that encases the balconies and thus creates a striking moiré of colour along High Street.

The vertical green walls offer a softer edge to the development and balance out the architectural materials that reference the rich industrial history of Northcote. These plantations offer a wonderful mirage of greenery that complement the muted tones within the architecture.

Car parking availability is substantial, as are the bicycle storage facilities.
